Privacy Policy
JAPani is designed for personal browsing with minimal data collection.
Information We Process
JAPani accounts are optional. If you create one, JAPani processes your email address, unique username, authentication provider, account timestamps, liked AniList media IDs, saved JAPani watch-order slugs, and one gacha pity state per game and banner. If you use Community Discussion, JAPani also processes public posts, comments, emoji reactions, the public username shown beside them, and the optional profile avatar URL. Passwords and Google credentials are handled by the authentication provider and are not visible to JAPani.
When signed out, gacha tracker values can be stored only in your browser localStorage for convenience. Your light or dark appearance preference can also be stored in localStorage so it remains consistent between pages. Public anime responses and short request cooldowns may be cached in browser sessionStorage to reduce repeated third-party requests; that session cache is removed when the tab session ends. Anime search and ranking requests may be sent to AniList or Jikan to return public anime metadata. The Genshin reference uses checked-in static data and does not submit player identifiers or game credentials.
When you sign in, Supabase stores the authentication session, including short-lived access and refresh credentials, in browser localStorage so the account remains available across page loads. Signing out clears that local session. Avoid remaining signed in on a shared device. Advertising scripts are not loaded on the private account or authentication callback pages.
Community Discussion is public. Posts and comments are hidden from the page after one week, while reactions are counted on the public post or comment they belong to. Do not post private information, credentials, addresses, payment details, or anything you do not want shown publicly.
Account Service Providers
Supabase provides authentication and private database storage. Google OAuth is available as an optional sign-in method. Resend delivers verification and password-reset email from JAPani. Cloudflare Turnstile helps prevent automated signup, login, and password-reset abuse. These providers receive the information needed to perform their service and apply their own privacy terms.
Retention And Delete Account Requests
Account data remains until you remove individual saved items or choose Delete Account from the private account page. Permanent deletion removes the Supabase identity and cascades through JAPani profile, like, watch-order, gacha, community post, comment, and reaction records. It does not delete anonymous browser storage, your Google account, AniList records, or any game account. Contact legal@japani.fyi if you cannot access the account deletion control.
Advertising Cookies
If Google AdSense is enabled, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to JAPani or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and other sites on the Internet.
Users may opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings. Other third-party ad networks may provide their own opt-out choices if they serve ads on JAPani.
Where required for visitors in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, JAPani must use a Google-certified consent management platform configured through AdSense Privacy & Messaging before serving ads that require consent. Available privacy choices are provided through that platform when active.
Third-Party Sources
Anime metadata and cover images may come from AniList public data. Archived Genshin records come from the MIT-licensed vikiboss/mihoyo-api project. Character, material, portal, or QR images may be loaded from HoYoverse-operated or source-listed image hosts, which can receive normal web request information such as an IP address, browser user agent, and referrer policy data. JAPani does not control AniList, Google, Supabase, Resend, Cloudflare, game publishers, image hosts, or external links, and their own policies apply when you visit those services.
